IN PRACTICE

While I am grateful for the help I received from advisors up to now, it would be an understatement to say I have worked more hours on this project than I have in anything else in my life. It definitely is a learning curve and we should also keep in mind that even if the other members help me to the best of their abilities, I am the only one with a background in marketing, videography, photography, editing, event planning and business development. As a social entrepreneur this ressourcefulness and willingness to learn is required but can also have its load of downsides. The fact that I hold this project to high standards for success also makes it harder to delegate on such crucial tasks knowing how big of an impact it can have.

LEARNINGS

In turn, this situation has lead us to post very little lately. I had to invest time in other facets of my life and knowing that our social media are solely reliant on my ability to organize, shoot, edit and then post content it had a significant impact. To put this in perspective, within 2 weeks of the official launch of the project, we were able to reach around 20 000 people across platforms and raise around 5 000$. Unfortunately, we have stagnated a little after our March 17th event in terms of social media growth and donations. Again this is due to the lack of quantity we're able to produce that would've enabled greater momentum from our earlier success.

I had also planned on making a greater proportion of our content to be educational but I have realized that such piece of contents are way harder to create in order to really had value, be factual and credible and still be interesting. It will be my focus in the coming months.

The same can be said about corporate partnership that have been a very small part of the money we have raised at the moment. I am currently working on donnations from Mcgill and ETS but will also focus on potential brand partnerships as well as Qc local SME during the coming months.

GOING FORWARD,

I want to post at least 4 times a week across platforms!
