Our quest to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro starts in Africa... but not where you think?
Indeed, I had the chance to befriend a Tanzanian student named Kassim during my stay in Cairo last summer. Both of us, wanting to travel for cheap, had booked a questionable hostel downtown and ended up bonding over the also questionable drinks served over there.
Being sociable, the first reflex I had when planing this campaign was to reach out to people who know more than me. Thus, at the beginning of the semester I messaged him back about Tanzania hoping he might be able to guide me. Having lost his own mother to cancer, he was deeply moved by our initiative. Shortly after, he helped me tremendously to plan the travel logistics part of this challenge.
Just like Kassim, I was able to suround myself with extraordinary individuals from different fields to make this vision a reality. Among other things, I benefited from valuable advices in creating a branding, a strategic marketing plan and a trainning regiment for my family. This free of charge outside expertise enabled us to create a special initiative with high credibility and proffesionalism that we would't have acheived otherwise. I couldn't go into too much details about which tools I specifically used because the list would be too long and the successes and failures I lived through using them would require me to do another website completely. Nonetheless, I can say that with experience I now go for tools that are intuitive and practical to use because of their many consolidated features to find as much as I can from one tool only instead of always going for the free ones. I currently almost exclusively use Canva in any situation to create content as I felt it was the best and most versatile tool I could also afford at the moment.

MY SUPPORT SYSTEM
While we didn't necessarily agree on everything we always tried to support one anothers to find the best possible alternative. No decision was taken without the other members accord and while unproffesional at times we made sure to have a Kilimanja Rose meeting at least once a week.
